Ice fishing

You will stay in our cottages near the Lainio river, one of the last wilderness rivers in the world! At this time of the year the river is covered with ice and snow, which gives you a marvellous chance to go skiing on the river and enjoy the silence.

You will get the chance to catch different kinds of fish directly through the ice.

There are also many lakes nearby, and we will of course go for the biggest fishes.

We will spend some evenings by the fire, where you will have the opportunity to learn about the magic and mystery of this magnificent area. With luck you will see the northern lights and get a chance to absorb its purity into your soul!

Lainio is also a perfect place for you to go cross-country skiing, you can make longer or shorter trips. We can offer you places to make a fire and eat the food that you have with you. If you wish you can spend one night in a typical Sami tipi!

During your stay in Lainio you will enjoy your breakfast, lunch or dinner in an old cultural building where you can get an idea of what life was like before modern times!
